Career Goals

My whole life Ive known I wanted to be a teacher. I knew my passion was to educate but in high school I tried to convince myself that it wasn't. My sophomore year my school opened up an education academy and I was the first to join, through this class i found 14 other girls my age who were equally passionate about education. We all pushed each other to strive for success and to chase our teacher dreams. These girls because an outlet for me to be myself, I found a family in teaching before I  ever became a teacher  and for them I am so grateful. Through them I learned that education isn't a career to me but a calling. They encouraged me to share my story and create my own platform. Through pageantry I did just that. I created my Service Project Initiative called the Love to Learn project where I spoke at elementary and K-8 schools all over my county. My service project is unique because it doesn't just target teachers it targets anyone who is involved the education system including students, parents, and administration. It is centered on bringing the spark back to the classroom through hands on play, student lead curriculum, and rewriting the way we look at our students and teachers. In 10 years I see myself continuing my pageant journey as a coach or delegate, a advocate for education, and a strong passionate kindergarten teacher.
